Simulated Patient Instructions
Briefing
Please act as the patient and reveal signs and results only as the candidate performs actions or requests tests.
Diagnosis: Intracerebral Haemorrhage
You are Matthew Hall (DOB 23.05.1948, aged 76)
You are unconscious...
That's it. No more...Nada. We're sure you'll put on an oscar-worthy performance. If you really want to get into character stare up and to the left when the candidate checks your pupils.
They should say they'll try and put in an airway adjunct. If they actually try to shove a tube down your nose you are well within your rights to react.
Appearance and Behaviour
You appear...unconscious (told you this was easy).
